On the 3rd of January, a number AIESEC volunteers went to help out in the Tzu Chi’s recycling collecting stations. It was a sunny day and our fellow AIESECers participated in sorting recyclable rubbish and learning activities.

We had great fun crushing aluminum cans and iron biscuit boxes.

It was quite a learning experience. We learned that plastic is categorised into 7 types. Some of the common types are:

type 1- disposable drinking bottles and so on

type 2- detergent bottles and so on

type 3- pipes, electrical wires and so on (toxic)

type 5- cooking food containers and so on

type 7- types of plastic not included in 1 to 6 or mixed of them
