Today when we went to buy food I noticed an other difference between Malaysia and Finland: plastic bags. What ever you buy here you get a very small plastic bag in different colours. I don´t really see the usefulness with them. Often they are so small so you can´t use them as garbagebag or something else. And if it´s a little thing you have bought then you don´t need to carry it in a bag, you can just use your hands.
In Finland we normally take a textile bag with us to the store so we not have to buy or use plastic bags.
I give you all a challenge: 1 week without any plastic bags! Try and see if it´s possible for you and let me know how it went.
Plastic bags are not a part of the environment, so be careful what you do with them!
Regards,
Caroline
